Should I replace my catalytic converter or my spark plugs?

check engine light came on in my 2003 Subaru Outback (4 cylinder). took it to Auto Zone and they ran a systems check which told them that the spark plugs or the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. has 150K+ miles.
