Can I take off the birth control patch a day early?

My change date is thursday but i have a doctors appointment with my aunt on wednesday to get my physical to play volleyball and its on my shoulder... I don't want them to see it if they do come upon it. Can I move it to another more secretive area without disrupting the flow of hormones into my body? Or can I just take it off a day early and put a new one on thursday caues that's my change day anyways?
