Does the ihome ia100 allow to be hooked up to additional speakers?

What i want to do is have my ihome ia100 hooked up to my outdoor speakers for a pool party i am having can this be done. If i am able to hook this up through additional speakers does music still play through the ihome or only through the speakers and also does any1 know the signal range between the this device and an iphone with bluetooth
